Dan and Angie Cleberg believe in building community through the Creative Arts. Their dedication to the Fallout Creative Community has earned them recognition as a Northern Electric finalist in the second annual regional Who Powers You contest.

“Dan & Angie, owners of the Red Rooster Coffee House, have used their business to support Fallout Creative Community. Fallout is a visible and vibrant arts community that embraces all people to live creatively together, especially those with developmental disabilities., wrote Lisa Anderson, who nominated the Clebergs for the contest.

Who Powers You is an exciting contest hosted by the region’s Touchstone Energy Cooperatives to highlight local figures making a difference in their communities. The Clebergs have a passion for people and the arts. “Everyone knows it is important to express themselves. I have had plenty of opportunities to be creative in my life,” stated Dan. “With the coffee house, we just wanted to create a place for others to be creative. We realized that once people started coming together to hop on stage and play a song or put artwork on the wall, others started seeing that and thinking, maybe I could do that too. The collaboration started happening, and this cool community was formed,” continued Dan. “We were intentional about including everyone, including those with disabilities. We found out that it has a huge impact on a life of a person who is typically isolated and doesn’t have opportunities. If someone gives them a chance to be creative, that can make a world of difference in their life.”

The Clebergs were featured on Keloland Living on May 18, 2023. A recap of the segment is also available on the contest’s webpage at WhoPowersYouContest.com.
