Welcome to the Co-op!

We are excited to welcome you as an owner of Northern Electric Cooperative! That's right, as a not-for-profit cooperative you are an owner - not a customer.

Congratulations!

You are a member-owner of Northern Electric Cooperative.

So, what does it mean to be a member of the co-op?

Two of the biggest benefits of being a co-op owner:

  • You have a voice and a vote.
  • You own a share of the cooperative.

Vote for Your Representative

Board of Directors

As a member-owner you have the right to vote during the co-op's annual meeting for a director to represent you on the co-op's board of directors.

Capital Credits

As a not-for-profit organization any extra money - or margins - will be allocated back to you every year. These are also called capital credits and are your share of the co-op.

The Basics

Being a co-op member is exciting but there are also some basic questions you might have about how to pay your bill or even how to read your bill. Here are some helpful links to get you started.
