Aberdeen Central High School Senior Audrey Cihak was recognized for her accomplishments both inside and outside the classroom on October 29 when she was named the Touchstone Energy Scholar of the Week.
 
“It was a great honor to find out I had won Scholar of the Week,” Cihak said. “I was truly surprised to find out I had won and was extremely grateful to those who had nominated me.”
 
Cihak has a 4.0 grade-point average at Aberdeen Central and participates in several extracurricular activities such as speech and debate, National Honor Society, peer tutoring, church youth group, and soccer.
 
“For me, the best way to balance schoolwork and extracurricular activities is with good planning. I try to keep a detailed schedule with upcoming due dates and events to help me plan ahead and make the most of my time.”
 
Cihak hopes to explore a career in business when she graduates from Aberdeen Central in the spring. She plans on majoring in International Business and Economics and is going to apply to several schools including the University of Minnesota, Creighton, the University of Rochester, and Boston College.
