Northern Electric Cooperative is currently recruiting high school students for the brand new Empower Youth leadership program.
Empower Youth will help high school students discover their strengths, build their leadership skills, and assist them in preparing for their careers.
The program will consist of three sessions throughout the summer. One of the sessions will include a four-day trip to North Dakota in July to tour power plants, learn about energy careers, and participate in team building. Students will also take a strengths assessment as part of the Empower Youth program and get tips about social media, resume writing, and searching for future careers.
Empower Youth is free and sponsored by your local Touchstone Energy Cooperatives. There will be opportunities for Empower Youth participants to earn points for taking part in program activities throughout the year, such as Empower sessions and cooperative meetings. Those points give the student a chance to win scholarships that range from $250 to $1,000!
Students can learn more about the program and register for the 2018 sessions by visiting www.empoweryouth.coop
